Synopsis

The human couple of retirement age are lounging on the beach and discussing the direction they each hope their life will take. A sea creature couple emerges from the sea and after overcoming initial fears, the two couples each try to satisfy their curiosity about the other. They discuss some of their similarities and differences. Zooming jets overhead remind us of the modern world. Edward Albee’s writing, with his inimitable style, once again demonstrates his wry view of married life – of communication fraught with subtle meaning – dare we say of the conscious and subconscious mind?
